Everyone names it Tomb Raider temple because it is the main spot for Film. Angkor Thom means Big City (9 Square KM). It was built in 10th century and the Bayon which is located in the center of Angkor Thom with over 200 Buddha faces and the bas-reliefs depicting the daily lives of the people in the Angkoian Period. We stay with locals we see how they live we eat what they eat and we learn how to feel calm and peaceful from the meditation.

Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap. Ta Prohm

Upon arrival check in to hotel.

In the afternoon, we explore the stunning Ta Prohm which has been abandoned to the elements, left as it was ‘discovered’ by French explorer Henri Mouhot in 1860, the tentacle-like tree roots here are slowly strangling the surviving stones.          After soaking up the unique atmosphere of Ta Prohm, we continue to East Mebon. It was built in 952. The East Mebon must have been quite impressive. The pyramidal structure consists of three concentric tiers crowned by five towers. It is a typical motif of many Angkor temples, which seek to represent Mount Meru, the location of the Hindu "heaven". It must have been highly symbolic, rowing a boat across the lake to one of the temple's four landings, then climbing up the tiers to pray at the shrines then we clime up Pre Rup which is the tall brick Pyramid temple to see the Sunset.

We continue to Local Market in the remote area of Siem Reap and Village to see their daily lives and riding Oxcart to experience the traditional transportation mode.

Day 03: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Siem Reap City Tour.

We leave our Homestay in the early morning and drive to Angkor Wat which is one of the seven wonders and the largest temple complex in the world. It is designed with three levels and surrounded by the moat. Angkor Wat – built by Suryavarman II (r 1112–52) – is the earthly representation of Mt Meru, the Mt Olympus of the Hindu faith and the abode of ancient gods. The Cambodian god-kings of old each strove to better their ancestors’ structures in size, scale and symmetry, culminating in what is believed to be the world’s largest religious building.

The temple is the heart and soul of Cambodia and a source of fierce national pride. Unlike the other Angkor monuments, it was never abandoned to the elements and has been in virtually continuous use since it was built. We have a break afterward and We continue to Angkor Thom that was the great City. We see Bayon with over 200 Buddha faces and bas reliefs which depict the daily lives of the people in the meantime. We walk for a few hundred meters to see the Terraces of  Elephants and Leper King.
